I was gently let firmly creasing the paper as I cut around the dotted line. My lips trembling as i placed the freshy cut coupon in my wallet. 25p off yogurt is well more exciting than that mummy porn that is 50 shades right? If you too want to save on yogurt go to the Live Danone website and sign up for mailing list your get some good vouchers sent out via email.
Well first of all dear reader I must apologise for lack of blogging. Yup its been a year since my last post so I figured I would pop up and say hi, and of course talk about saving cash.
So this week I have noticed that Asda have been clearing out various "end of line products". It's pretty handy that I have two of Surreys tiny number of Asda stores within a mile of my front door. I popped in to the smaller store on my way home from work the other day and had a scout around. I found a section of various jars of cooking sauces for 25p a jar and I also picked up microwave rice for 13p. My plan tonight to make a yummy fish pie using one of these sauce jars, a selection of fish, peas and egg all topped with a bit of mash! yum!!
Other deals across the two local Asda stores include 25p for the 2 litre bottles of asda soft drink (Their version of Dr Pepper and Iron Bru). I also picked up bottles of Belviours Winter Punch (non alcholic) for 49p. I tried this before christmas and it was around £2 so a great saving there.
I have also been using the trusted cash back apps. I use Shopizite a lot. They have special deals on their facebook page every thursday, potentialy some freebies there maybe even a bit of overage if your really lucky. I also use Click Snap, Top Cashback and Check Out Smart. Click Snap is pretty good right now. You can get free sharing bags of Pyliss Fogg crisps (£1 cash back, cost £1 in Morrisons). I have been using these apps since last year and have built up a nice little balance over them all.
Another thing about Asda if you get over charged at till Don't tell the cashier at the time. If you pay and go to customer service they will refund the over charge AND give you a £2 voucher as a "gesture of good will" Jolly nice of them i recon! My local store has all sorts of price label issues so I have had a few £2 gift cards.
Oh and my new favourite shop? B&M Bargains and Home Bargains would be right up there! Amazing deals!! I spent my saturday morning trying to compare prices on loo roll and kitchen towel. All very confusing some are 2 ply some 3 ply some are longer than others. Just as well the next aisle contained headache pills! These discount shops are great at Christmas you know. Only problem is I brought so much at B&M in December I forgot I had to walk across town laden with flimsy carrier bags which split sending cans of pepsi max flying in all directions.
You will see the picture of one of my purchases at Waitrose. Yes I shop there two (by shopping I mean getting my free coffee). Anyway these Heston Chocs. 15 in a box were £13 (RIP OFF) on offer at £6.50, (STILL RIP OFF) mine were going out of date so recduced to £1.99 lots of odd flavours as you would expect from Heston. I tried one of these chocs which was Earl Grey flavour yes it was minging with a capital M!!
Sad news that Orange/EE Wednesdays is to end at End of Feb I have just joined EE and used my Bogof ticket code with a local card I have, 2 tickets for £5.50 plus a quid for pop corn in poundshop on way! Looking forward to seeing what EE plan to replace EE Wednesday with? Hoping something like 02 priority? I like the sound of a cheap lunch on a Monday.
Anybody seen 50 shades of Grey? Everybodys mad on it. I was reading that B&Q warned their staff that they may face increased demand for Rope and other such items as the film hit cinemas. They also gave their staff copies of the book to familerise themselves with the content and to help with senstive customer questions. Oh to be a fly on the wall at that staff Briefing!! I saw a clever sign in a shop window recently saying 50 shades of Earl Grey - teas me. Maybe we can tie the rope round the kettle and make a wallace and Gromit style pully system to make the tea from our arm chair? maybe thats what this is all about? Maybe Mr Grey wants to pay
.. with a coupon of course!!
Note the unfortunate location of the wet floor sign in the picture. Yup right by the display of 50 shade books. Cleaner to the mummy porn aisle please!!!
